What’s New?

NEW! September 25, 2008

I (Dave) was in Utah at the end of August while the Park City Jazz Festival was underway. I went to a songwriting clinic held by jazz singer Anna Wilson and her (I think) husband, guitarist Monty Powell. The 20 or so people in the class together wrote a song called “All I Need” that morning.  Wilson and her band performed it at the Jazz Festival later that afternoon, and I, along with a young trumpet player named Micah who stole the show,  got asked to join them on stage to play it.  Here’s the video:

As most of our friends know, we’ve decided to live life a little less publicly.  So if you’re a friend who’s accustomed to looking here for juicy personal and family tidbits, sorry, they’re not here any more.  If you’re on Facebook, you’ll find all of us with pages there – their walled-garden approach to privacy is more to our current liking.  If you’re into Dave’s music projects, check out these sites instead:

I have added one new thing here - the results of my research to identify all the four-year colleges and universities on the quarter system and block plan.  Our youngest is in the college search phase, and because of his sports training schedule he can’t attend colleges on the typical semester system.  Since I haven’t been able to find any single place on the Net where this information is collected, I decided to create it.  This list is no doubt incomplete, but it’s a start and hopefully it will become a resource to other students and parents once the search engines discover it.

I also still have the pictures of Cherry Hills Village online.  I haven’t updated the page in ages, but it’s still there.
